Covid deaths per week have doubled under Labor
Since the election in May 2022, the Labor Government (Albanese/Butler) has overseen an average of 100 doctor certified Covid deaths per week. This compares to 53 under the Coalition (Morrison/Hunt).
Notes on data: Covid deaths recorded under Prime Minister / Health Minister. The marks are labelled by sum of Covid deaths and average of Covid deaths. The weeks used to calculate numbers: (a) for Scott Morrison / Greg Hunt, week one 2020 to week 21 2022. Anthony Albanese / Mark Butler, weeks cover week 22 2022 to week 52 2024. Week 53 in 2020 is excluded to equalise yearly number of weeks. The figures are only for doctor certified deaths, do not include deaths referred to the coroner.
